A Pregnancy Anomaly Scan, also known as a Level-II ultrasound or detailed fetal scan, is a comprehensive ultrasound examination usually performed between 18 and 22 weeks of pregnancy. It is done to carefully assess the baby’s growth, development, and overall anatomy.

During the scan, the brain, face, spine, heart, abdomen, kidneys, limbs, and other major organs of the baby are examined in detail. The scan also evaluates the placenta, amniotic fluid, fetal growth, and position of the baby.

An anomaly scan helps identify certain structural abnormalities or developmental problems at an early stage. It is a non-invasive and generally safe examination and is an important part of routine prenatal care.
